New things!!

I figured it was time to update my blog... Its been way too long! I told myself I would make it a habit to update it a lot... That has yet to happen. Ha! A lot has been happening in the Wiley Family. Our little peanut is almost 3 months old!! Where does the time go?? Seriously! She is such a blessing, I can't get enough. She is growing on a daily basis! She is always learning and doing new things! Its so fun to see her develop! She is finally at the stage where she smiles and reacts to your faces. She is also starting to talk and laugh! Chris and I look like fools whenever we try to make her smile. We love it! Her smile is beautiful!! So we try to see it as much as we can. :)

Harper has also discovered her tongue! It is SO funny! She sticks it out and wiggles it around constantly. She has also started to lick things, whether its your shirt, your face, her blanket, or toys. She always has that tongue out! Its fun too because she will copy you when you stick yours out. She is a silly girl!
We have had a lot of fun since she has been here! We have been so blessed to have such a good baby! She is already sleeping through the night and she is rarely fussy. We got lucky! :) At Harper's 2 month checkup the other day she weighed in at 14 lbs 6oz and was 23 inches long!!! I can't believe how big she is!! She is already in 3-6 month clothes! She is going through them like crazy!!! It makes me so sad. I had to pack up her newborn and 0-3 month clothes and I could hardly believe she was that little!! Newborn clothes only fit her for about a week but she was still little!! I wish time would go by a little slower. She also did amazing with her shots! I was a proud momma. She only cried for a little bit and then slept a lot over the next few days. We just stayed in so she could get better.

(Getting so big!!)

Another one of Harper's favorite activities is going for walks or jogs with me! She is so content looking around and talking while we go. The weather is finally starting to get nice so we can go more often! I am so excited for summer and to do all the fun summer things with Harper and Chris. Chris has been super busy with work. Its really hard because we hardly get to see him. I am so proud of him and so grateful for what he does for our family. He works so hard for us so I don't have to go back to a full time job. I really appreciate all he does for us :) He is one amazing Father. Harper LOVES her daddy. She did the cutest thing the other day. Chris got home from working all day and I was playing with Harper. He got right up to her and started talking to her. She got the biggest smile on her face and started talking to him. She knows her daddy!! It was the cutest thing! I love those two.

This past week was a big week for Harper! She got to meet her Uncle Brodie and cousins Bailey and Brooklyn for the first time!! Chris' best friend Brodie came home from Afganistan and we got to be there to see him come home!! He also got to meet his daughter Brooklyn for the first time. It was probably one of the most precious things I have ever seen. I am so happy he is home with his family. Chris and I are also way excited because that also means we can do fun family things together! Haha and Harper can play with her cousins.
(Love this family!!!)

Well that is all the time I have for updating, hopefully I will get around to it more! :)

Harper Wiley

Gosh I can't believe its been a month since my last post! I have been slacking a bit. It has been the most busiest month of my life and I love it! The weekend before we had the baby was crazy! We were scrambling to get the final things done, we were both super nervous because it was all unknown so that made time drag! The Sunday before we had my family over to the house and had a big dinner and everyone got to hang out and play games. It was really nice and it helped get my mind off of everything for a bit. We tried to get to bed early that night but of course it didn't happen. It was so crazy to think that that was the last night it was going to be just me and Chris. We were just too excited! We had to be up by 4:30 the next morning because we had to call the Hospital at 5:30 to see when they could get us in. Much to our surprise we got a call at 5:20 and they said we could be there at 6!! I was so excited because then we  didn't have to wait! We got our things together and off to the hospital we went! We got to the Hospital and checked in and got to our room. By the time the poor nurse could find my vein and get my IV started it was 7:30. That was not a fun time. Haha luckily I was already at a 3 and fully effaced and I was having constant contractions about a minute apart. So I was already somewhat in labor. Then it was just a waiting game! Chris was being so helpful. He didn't leave my side once and was constantly making sure I was okay and was reassuring me to help me feel better and to be less nervous. That really helped a lot. By noon I was at a 6 and decided I needed my epidural. It really wasn't that bad! Chris was more worried about it than I was. I think it was because he saw the needle and everything. (Thank goodness I didn't, I am terrified of needles.) Then we just continued to wait. We had our family coming and going throughout the day to visit so that helped time go by a little quicker. We were both getting anxious. At 5:20 I was dilated to a 10 and they make you wait an hour to let the head come down then its game time! By 6:30 my nurse came back in and it was time to push! I started pushing and within 2 pushes the nurse said "She has lots of dark hair!!" Chris wanted to see and watched. He was so great. He helped me through the whole thing and I really couldn't have done it without him there.  I pushed for an hour and she finally came out! Towards the end of my pregnancy my doctor told us to expect a 7-8 pound baby which I didn't think was too bad because that it the average size. The second they pulled her out I knew there was no possible way she was 7-8 pounds! Even the nurses commented on what a big baby she was. Haha they put her on the scale and what do ya know? She was 9 lbs 6oz and 20.5 inches long!! She was chunky! The doctor said its a good thing I didn't go full term or she would have been 12-13 pounds!! That is one big baby! So I am pretty grateful.  I didn't think I could love someone so much the second I met them. I was smitten and she was perfect! They laid her on my chest after and I started talking to her and she knew I was her mom. She looked up at me and just stared at me while I talked to her. I was so overwhelmed by the love I felt for her. I didn't think something so tiny and so perfect could have such a big effect on me. I now have a new found respect for my parents and the love they have for me. Its a special kind of love you don't have until you become a parent. Its an amazing thing. Chris got to hold her next and it was so incredible. They just stared at each other and she knew he was her dad. The second he held her he instantly changed. I thought I loved him before but now its on a whole new level. This experience brought us so much closer together. It is such an amazing experience! As worried and as nervous as we were, there was nothing to be worried or nervous about. It wasn't as bad or as scary as we thought. We then got up to our room and we got to see all of our family there. Little Harper already has everyone wrapped around her little fingers! We stayed in the hospital for a day and then we got to go home! We couldn't wait any longer! The first night we had with her was a little scary, I didn't sleep at all because I wanted to make sure she was breathing. She was of course but I couldn't help but watch her. One of the things they don't prepare you for after birth is how emotional you will be!! I was an emotional wreck! I was so happy that I just couldn't stop crying. Anything would start the water works. I would just be sitting there and I would look at her and I would just start crying. I was so happy that I just couldn't control it. Poor Chris thought I was a little crazy, haha but thank goodness it only lasted a week. Too much emotions for me :) We got to have our first Valentines with her too. That was so much fun. She was our perfect little Valentine. I can't believe how much she changes on a daily basis. Its a constant change! It is so fun and so rewarding to watch her grow and change everyday. It kinda makes me sad because I feel like she is growing way too fast for me. We try to cherish every moment we can. As crazy as this whole pregnancy was, it was so worth it. I would do it 10 times over again. She is so worth it. We couldn't be more blessed to have Harper in our lives. We are also very blessed that she is very healthy and happy considering all the crazy stuff we went through to get her here. She truly is so amazing. We are so lucky she picked us to be her parents. We love her more than words. I love my little family :)

Final Touches

What a week it has been!! We have been scrambling to get everything we have left to do done before the baby gets here! It has been pretty crazy. This past Saturday my Mother in law threw me a friend baby shower, it was so great to catch up and see everyone! We got a lot of cute things and we are very grateful! She will be quite spoiled!! I was supposed to have a family one too, but since everything got pushed up and I have been on bedrest it was hard to plan, so we decided to do a shower after and that way the family can meet the baby! I thought that would be the easiest route. That Sunday was Superbowl Sunday! Chris' team was in the Superbowl and he was so excited! I was supposed to be induced that day instead of this Monday and I am so glad that wasn't the case because Chris would have been so involved with Football.. Haha :) he was like a little kid on Christmas. He woke me up and was so excited. He had to get all ready in his 49er gear and I had to get a picture!!
(All ready to go!!!)

We met up to have breakfast that morning with our really good friends Britany and Trevor. We went out to Tremonton to meet them at JC's Restaurant. We go in there and there was this old man sitting with his wife. I don't know what it is about my husband, but he seems to attract all sorts of people and can make conversation with anyone! It doesn't matter where we are either, he also seems to know anyone and everyone. Haha I always tell him he should run for mayor and he'd win. Anyway this old man started talking to Chris about his outfit and they were joking around for a little bit, I thought he knew him because they were talking like old friends but he had no idea who this guy was. As we were eating the old man and his wife left and he said goodbye to us and told us to take care and that was that. We stayed and caught up with our friends for a while and it was so nice to see them! Brit is also pregnant and our due dates are 3 days apart!! It kinda sucked that my date had to get pushed up though, but our babies will still be the best of friends :) As we were getting ready to leave, our server came to our table and told us that there wasn't a bill and our whole table was paid for. I was shocked!! She told us the old man Chris was talking to had paid for our table and told us to save the money for the babies. We were so touched because there still is good and generous people out there in this world. We asked the server if he was a regular and she said she had never seen him before either. I just love those random acts of kindness. It means a lot and goes a long ways. (little things like that gets my husband emotional. haha) We just hope one day we will be able to touch the lives of someone else like this old man had done for us. It was a great morning! After breakfast we went to Chris' uncle's house. They are all huge 49er fans, so naturally we had to be there :) it was really good to be around family and yell at the tv. It was such a bummer that Chris' team lost but it was still a good game.  We had our last 2 doctors appointments this week!! FINALLY! It will be so nice not to have to go in twice a week. I can't wait to meet my little princess. We did have a false alarm on Wednesday night. I was having constant contractions and was in a lot of pain so my doctor told me to go up to Labor and Delivery. I was so excited! I thought it was really happening, I was 37 weeks that day too and that is technically full term so we weren't worried. We got up there and I got hooked up to the monitors and then it was just a waiting game to see what was going to happen. Of course our little nugget wanted to be stubborn and I wasn't progressing fast enough so I got sent home. I was so sad!!! Its really not a huge deal because I will have her Monday regardless, but I am SO ready for her to be here. We are scheduled to be induced at 6am on Monday. Its nice too because since I am slowly progressing on my own at home, labor wont be as long and I wont have to stay as long as I thought in the Hospital!! (YAY) So as far as preparing for baby goes I think we are set. We have deep cleaned and washed clothes and got the necessary stuff ready. Chris is way too excited! His last day of work was Friday and he doesn't have to go back till the 22nd. I am WAY too excited about that. I absolutely love spending time with him and it is going to be so nice to have him around. He has been such a huge help already! I love him. Chris brought up the idea the other day to Tie Dye onesies. He was feeling pretty crafty. :) it sounded like a lot of fun! We got the dye and some white onesies and spent an evening tie dying. It was way fun!! They turned out so cute too! I can't wait to put them on her.

(So cute!!)

I love the fact that my husband has a crafty side and will do that stuff with me. He is starting to show more of his 'sensitive' side lately, I love it. The other day he was holding a baby outfit and was pretending there was a baby in it and was rocking it, haha it made me laugh. Even though this pregnancy hasn't been a breeze I am so grateful to be able to bring this baby into this world, it is so worth it! Chris has nicknamed me Fiona.. Haha because my feet have gotten SO swollen this past week and he calls them Shrek feet. I struggle to put my shoes on and I no longer have ankles. Its quite funny. Thank goodness this is just happening now so it can't get much worse. :) Well that's where we are at for now. I think we are ready for Monday. I can't wait to meet her! Its so crazy that in a few days we will be parents. We are way too excited. Hopefully I can update soon after she gets here too!! :)

(37 weeks!! Ready for her to be here!!)

Crunch Time!

Well I can now say that I will be having my baby this month!! 10 days left! I feel like we have SO many things to get done and so little time! We had one of our last doctor's appointments today. (thank goodness!) Only two more appointments left before we have this baby!! Going to the doctor twice a week kinda gets old pretty quick! We had a growth ultrasound today. This baby is HUGE! She is already measuring at 7 pounds 9 ounces and I am only 36 weeks today. Her head is already measuring at 40 weeks!!! Yikes. Overall she is measuring at about 38.5 weeks, which is great because when I do have her, she will be measuring at about full term. The doctor said to expect a 8.5 to 9 pounder. I am grateful because that means she will be a happy healthy baby! The doctor said she is surprised we have made it this far. She also said she thought we were gonna have an early baby because of the tests results I was showing earlier in my pregnancy. I feel so blessed that I will be having this baby nearly full term and that everything is healthy!! That was one of my biggest fears. The thing that is a little downer about being induced is labor may take a bit longer than normal! I have to go in at midnight on the 10th, and they start me on a 12 hour medication that I will hopefully be able to sleep through. After that they start you on Petocin to get everything going, so we are hoping that by Monday night or early Tuesday morning our babe will be here! We are getting so anxious to meet this little one. I am so ready to be a Mom and I know Chris is so ready to be a Dad. We are ready to take on this new adventure together. It has been a little frustrating though when we are telling people how excited and anxious we are and people reply with "just you wait" or "you think that now" or "give it a week and then you'll see." That has kinda been a little upsetting. I know people are just trying to "prepare" you for whats really going to happen, and to be honest, we can't wait! Chris and I both agree it will be a change, but we can't wait to be up all night, we can't wait to change her and feed her all the time, we can't wait to calm an upset baby, we can't wait to deal with the puke or blow outs, and we can't wait to have this little person depend on us for everything and anything! We are so excited! Chris has wanted to be a Dad for so long. It is so amazing to be able to give him a Daughter. I know he will be an amazing Dad. It is going to be so great when I see this little person for the first time, and she is all ours. It will all be worth it. :)

Wayyyyy Behind!!!

Okay, I am really really not good at blogging, and I am WAY behind. So I will do my best to get all caught up. (Eventually.) Well since my last post we have been going crazy with baby things! We are also having a little girl!!! We are thrilled! I am a little nervous because if she is anything like me when I was little, then we are in for it! Chris was a little shocked at first. We thought we were having a boy, so did everyone else! We were sure we were having a boy! Even at our second ultrasound we had the doctor double check just to be sure, and sure enough, its a girl. :) The thing I have loved most about having a girl is seeing how excited Chris gets over the cutest little girl outfits. He loves it.  This little nugget has more clothes than I do and she isn't even here yet! We have decided to name our little one Harper Wiley. Even before we were pregnant we always discussed names we wanted for our kids. Harper was always on the top of the list and even though we haven't officially "met" she is already a Harper to me. We thought about middle names but we couldn't come up with any that fit, so we decided that she will (hopefully) take Wiley as her middle name when she gets married. This pregnancy hasn't been the easiest, but I know it will be SO worth it. I had to go on bed rest at 27 weeks because I was diagnosed with preeclampsia. It is common with first time moms but they were worried because I was diagnosed with it so early. So I have been confined to my couch or bed until baby comes. We really have been blessed though and I am so grateful for the power of priesthood blessings and prayer. Our baby has been extremely healthy for what has been happening. She is even measuring bigger and is doing everything she should be doing which the doctors say is really amazing. She is a fighter already :) Chris and I have been quite the procrastinators with getting everything ready.. Typical. Haha over the past month we decided that we should probably start stocking up on diapers and wipes. The only thing we have been consistent with is buying baby clothes. They are way too cute not to buy, but diapers are probably more important :) We finally got a little crib/bassinet/playyard thing for her to sleep in for the first little bit. Chris LOVED putting it together. He is gonna be such and amazing father. He gets so excited about those little things. We also got a stroller and carseat last week, well when it came the carseat was broken so we had to send it back and order another one.. Harper will be here in 12 days... Can you say crunch time?? I am hoping the carseat will get here or else we will be hanging out at the hospital! Chris and I have also been going through a major nesting phase, and its really not just me that is a crazy clean freak, I might be rubbing off on him a bit. Oops. Its so crazy to think that in less than two weeks we will have our own little one. Its scary not knowing what to expect either. I just hope I have everything ready to go by then. I guess this post has been all about Baby H. We are pretty much obsessed with her. :) Well.. The other new things in our life... Chris has been transferred to Layton to run that Journeys store. We are still living in Logan and he commutes everyday. He loves it there. We also just celebrated our 1st Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe what all has happened this past year! I really did marry my best friend. I love him with all of my heart. I am happy I get to start this new chapter of our lives together. I couldn't be happier. That's really all that's happened lately. I will update more!! :)
